The Blog

December 26th, 2005

The fire has vanished, the ham is long gone,
The Aunt and the Grannies have all gone back home.

This Christmas was fun, you can say that indeedy
We rocked out the Grape Street and sold our CD.

The stocking are back in the basement with care,
The smell of burning pine trees fills the night air.

Christmas is over but you can hardly tell
Because 104.5 is still playing Silver Bells.

We want to say thanks to our Grape Street followers
For paying the cover and being drink swallowers.

All of our fans, you're truly the best,
And we want to say now, before
someone protests,

That even though we're a little bit tardy
Merry Christmas and thanks for coming to our Christmas party.

Happy Holidays from you Boys,
Fat Cizzle Reprizzle Jingle Jingle

The Freakin' Blog

We just got back from freakin' New York City, and boy are our freakin' mouths tired from sayin freakin' so freakin' much! The New York show was a complete success, even though the bus battery died and we had to wait for a jump, the whole night was more problem free than we could have ever imagined. A gigantic thank you to Paul and the Bitter End, you guys really run a first class place up there and we'd love to play the Bitter End whenever possible. Thanks to the Fat Cit-iots for coming on this great experiment that was our first bus trip, and another big thank you to everyone for not wondering off, not losing patience, and not sticking Nick's freakin' clipboard up his ass. Scooter, don't think we forgot about you, thanks for making our first trip to New York something out of nothing. You really saved our asses. As for those of you who watched the web cast or tried to and didn't, we overloaded the server. So many Fat City fans tried to watch us play over the internet that many were denied access due to a server overload. Good work everyone, there's strength in numbers.

Onto the news. We're playing Bamboo Bernie's THIS THURSDAY December 15th. We take the stage twice that night do get there early and get two sets of Fat City Reprise in your face. We're also selling the first round of bus tickets at Bamboo Bernie's for our January 14, 2006 show at Don Hill's in New York City. This show is 18 to enter and tickets will be available for 30 US dollars. They go on sale December 15th at Bamboo Bernie's in Lawnside, NJ. Be there or be square.
On December 23rd, we're playing our Christmas show at Grape Street Philadelphia and we have some surprises for you.
Available that evening only we will be selling Fat City Reprise LIVE at the Bitter End in New York City! The CD has our entire performance in New York captured from two room mics inside the venue. We're only making 100 copies and they will ONLY BE SOLD DECEMBER 23RD AT GRAPE STREET. Also, we'll be selling bus tickets and tee shirts all night long. The entire show is going to be recorded for our DVD Extravaganza!!! That's right, if you come to the show on the 23rd not only will you be able to get Live in New York but you'll be on our DVD.
And congratulation to Elle who won this month's sticker contest. She tagged up some spots on London and Paris with our little black business cards. If you win the sticker contest and put a sticker in more outrageous spot than our friend Dan Mills did that month, you get an autographed drum head, free tee shirt, a copy of our Live CD, and a pile of new stickers to start again. Thanks for playing Elle, we'll get you your prize when you come home.

See ya' at Bernie's,

Jaxon and Other Delights

Ok, we're not usually a group to throw around apologies, we like to get things right the first time. But today, you (that's right we're talking to you, reading this right now, don't believe us? You're at a computer that has a keyboard, monitor and a mouse. Told ya...) are witnesses to a Fat City apology.
Joe Ricci worked security for us just like Mole, Phil, Danny, Joe D, and Moose on November 19, 2005 and we thanked everyone but him. So in front of the world:
THANKS TO JOE RICCI FOR HOOKING IT UP WITH SECURITY THE OTHER NIGHT AT FIFTH STONE.
Now, thanks to everyone who braved the storm to get to Manayunk and rock out on Tuesday, November 29th. And a huge thank you to Jaxon from WMMR. Not only is he the only radio personality to ever pronounce our name right (REE-PRIZE), but he also played Cowgirl as his local shot Wednesday at 6pm. Jaxon, you rock man. Keep Rock and Roll on the radio in Philly. And big thanks to Scooter, Barb, Frank Tucker, and all our boys on the Grape Street security team. You guys run a tight ship, your professionalism is unparalleled and appreciated.
And some good news for all the kiddies!!!!!! We're back at Fifth Stone on Saturday, December 3rd.
The party starts at 9:00pm and is once again 18 to enter and 21 to drink. The venue is right across the street from Johnson's Field in scenic South Philadelphia. For addresses, see our Show Page. Because we're smooth like that, come back next week and we'll pop some eggnog in your eye.

The Gospel According to Funk

Playing a show in an old church was something we weren't sure we wanted to do originally. There's something in the Book of Revelation about the Apocalypse starting when the best looking, tightest, and loudest band around rocks out an old church. Luckily, the church wasn't a former Catholic church and the end of the world did not start. Instead, everyone had an awesome time.

Thanks a million to everyone who came out to see us rock Fifth Stone on Saturday. We always love to rock out our own neighborhoods, and it was really great to see so many people come out to see the spectacle. Thanks to Real and Jimmy C for helping set this all up, and a HUGE thank you to Mole, Phil, Danny, Joe D, and Moose for working security. Lot's of stuff is happening, pay attention!!!!!

TUESDAY NOVEMBER 29: We take the stage at Grape Street for WMMR night at 11pm. Come out to win free tee shirts, possible vacations, and other typical radio prizes. With a badass intro from Jackson of WMMR, we'll be sure to kick it.

SATURDAY DECEMBER 3: Back to Fifth Stone for another 18 to enter, 21 to drink, illegal to think type of party. This night is part of an event held there called the Stir Fry so there will be food also. Yummy.

SATURDAY DECEMBER 10: NEW YORK CITY!!!!!! If you have a bus ticket, you'll be there. If you don't: target="resource window">www.njtransit.com.

THURSDAY DECEMBER 15: Our premier show at Bamboo Bernie's. Come out to see fire blowers, drink Long Island Iced Teas in fishbowls the size of your head, and see Fat City rock out from a stage that is actually behind the bar.

FRIDAY DECEMBER 23: CHRISTMAS PARTY at Grape Street. We go on at Midnight and promise to make you wet yourself by 12:30.

We've also got some new video footage coming to the website, so keep your eyes open. We're booking January and February shows as we speak, and there just might be some new audio around in the next couple of days. We love all of you, have a safe holiday. Be thankful you're alive, fed, and healthy. And thank God for music. We'll be thanking
God for all of you.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Hey Everyone,
Halloween was slamming. After three years of Halloween shows, we finally dressed up as a theme. In case anyone missed the movie, we were the Dead Presidents from the film of the same name. You know, group of friends from Harlem end up in Vietnam, can't get jobs when they get home, rob an armored car looking like us on Saturday? Hot flick...
Thanks to everyone who came and out and to everyone who dressed up. There was Batman, the Mad Hatter, a Slim Jim, Playboy bunnies, Devil girls, the Village people, Sponge Bob, and of course, some guy was dressed as Biz Markie. Oh shiznap! That was the REAL BIZ! That's right, Biz showed up and he was spinning something wicked. A gala event to say the least.
Onto the future, Marty...NOVEMBER 19TH!!!!! That's right, it's a celebration, bitches! We're playing Fifth Stone Studios on 18th and Barbara Sts, between Johnson Street and Moyamensing Avenue. It used to be a church, and since God gave rock and roll to you, you should totally feel obligated to come. It is EIGHTEEN TO ENTER and 21 to drink, so all you kiddies lace up your dancin' shoes. The evening promises to be rockin' until the break of midnight when we have to stop playing, but guess what? There's going to be Raider's of the Lost Ark type face melting going on all night.

Dig it,

October 19th, 2005

Hey, we're sorry we can't get to the blog right now, so leave your name and message and we'll be sure to get right back to you....BEEP.

We apologize for not writing a blog about the last few days sooner but we were out making moves, shows to play, chocolate to eat, we were out... The Chestnut Room (Thurs 10-13-05) was awesome. HUGE thanks to everyone who showed up in the crappy weather, there was more water falling than an Irish Spring commercial. The rumors were true and mugs of beer were fifty cents each. The place got full towards the end of the set and everybody had a good time. Excellent show, thanks again to Jim Thorpe, the Chestnut Room, and everyone who came out to see us Thursday night. Then, Monday night we were all lying around, washing each others hair, when we got a phone call from Jimmy in the band Real. Apparently, a band had bailed out on the Temple Homecoming show at the Bell Tower on campus Tuesday afternoon.
We quickly agreed, chugged fifths of Jack Daniels and sang Louie Louie until 11:00am when we took the stage at the Bell Tower. The show went really well and a big shout out to all of our newly acquired fans, welcome to the FC-ARMY. Roll call is October 29th when we take the stage at the Grape Street for our THIRD ANNUAL HALLOWEEN COSTUME SPECTACULARRE. Ariba ariba, we take the stage at the stroke of midnight and an awesome time is guaranteed. Biz Markie will be in the DJ room (for real) and all the ladies will be dressed in Band-Aids and electric tape, calling it a costume. Any girls who dress like cowgirls get to pinch Frankie's nip-nip's! See You on Halloween....

Your Ghouls,

October 13th, 2005

Congratulations to Joe "Frog Johnson" Lanni, Eric "Moose" Rocco, and Anthony "Joe D" Pinto for winning the third monthly sticker contest.
They went to Times Square and placed stickers on everything from a guy in a banana suit to four bottles of sake.
We're playing the Chestnut Room this Thursday Oct 13th at 11:00pm. Be there or be sober. And don't forget to pick out a nasty costume for the Halloween show. Rock me, Amadeus...

Hey Everyone, the news nobody wanted to hear is about to be let loose. The bus trip to New York City is sold out. That's right, all 40 available seats have been made occupado, bro. The official list is compiled and a brief list of those who are next in line in case of drop outs is on hand. Anyone else who is looking to come can get more info about transportation at http://www.njtransit.com

The good news is that we're still rocking the shit out of the Chestnut Room this Thursday at 11:00pm. The Chestnut Room is located at 38th and Chestnut right in between the campuses of University of Penn and Drexel University. Rock on. Only fifty cents for a mug of beer, that's only two bits! It no longer gets you a shave and a haircut but in the Chestnut Room this Thursday two bits still gets you a mug of beer. Outstanding.
Also, don't forget to listen to Drexel's 91.7 FM Tuesday between 3 and 6 because a deejay named Oriel will be spinning some of our stuff on her show. Check that shit out and call in to tell her how awesome you think Frank's hair is.
See you Thursday...

(The religious please skip the next sentence, but) God Damn that was awesome. We took the Grape Street stage at 12:30 AM on September 30th at the end of a killer line-up. 75 minutes later, when they raised the house lights, everyone needed a nap. Thanks to everyone who came out to see the show and for all of the positive feedback we got, the Fat City Army was loud and proud and we really felt the love. We couldn't do this without you.

SHIT TO LOOK OUT FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
October 13th, 2005 we play the Chestnut Room on 38th and Chestnut at 11:00pm. The specials that night are 50 cent drafts, 75 cent well drinks, and a free buffet. With prices like these, your finger tips will be feeling pins and needles by 9:30 and you'll have money for smokes.
October 29th, 2005 we are playing our Third Annual Halloween show at Grape Street. We go on at midnight, play for 75 minutes, and anyone who comes without a costume plays with their own poop. AND Biz Markie will be dj-ing in the Hip-Hop room all damn night. And you got what he needs.
December 10th, 2005 we play NEW YORK CITY!!!! We are rocking the Continental at 25 Third Avenue. At the stroke of midnight, our guitars will turn back into pumpkins and we'll promptly blow the mind of all 8 million New Yorkers one by one. Dare us not to do it. We currently have ONLY TWENTY TWO TICKETS AVAILABLE. Contact the band at band@fatcityreprise.com and set up a meeting to drop off your trip money. $25 a seat, and that includes the round trip on the bus and entry into the club. You have to hand in your money before your seat can be reserved because we are running out of space.
ALSO, keep your eyes open for new shirts. Yeah that's right we said it.
So keep on coming out and we'll keep on trying to top ourselves and make the shows more fun for you. Talk to you real soon.

Aims-ing to Please,

Fat City Reprise: 1; Volcano: 0

We came, we saw, we conquered. Kahunaville was rocking, thanks to everyone who made the trek. And to all our new Delaware friends, welcome to the family. Thanks to Salina for getting us the show and to Kathy and Joe at Kahunaville for being on top of their shit. We look forward to playing there again in the wintertime.
Can you feel that tickle in the back of your throat? That's our impending Grape Street show. We take the stage at the Grape at the strike of midnight on Friday, September 30th, 2005. Who's going to be there? We want to know, so hit us up on My Space, the message board, or even through email if you're coming. Don't be bashful, we want to know.
We'll see you on Friday...

Fat City vs. The Volcano

We'd kick the life out of a volcano if one ever stepped, and you know this man. Don't forget about us when we step out of the shadow of Billy Penn to rock out Kahunaville in Wilmington, DE on Friday September 23rd. It's a really awesome venue and only a short drive from Philly. And as usual, your boys will be taking the stage at midnight to hold it down and put the ants in your pants. For directions and dress code (yeah we're serious, it's not black tie but it exists): www.kahunaville.com If your computer is acting weird, don't worry. Just look for a butterfly in the sky, then take a look, it's in a book...

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls; we'd like to introduce you to Mike Vivas. Some of you have the pleasure of knowing him and some of you are just now meeting him in blog format. He will now be playing bass and singing in Fat City Reprise. For any and all Mike Vivas related questions, please refer to our FAQ, discussion board, and email addresses. Whatever nervousness was in the air was left behind on Saturday as the music started and things got rolling. The night was gorgeous, the venue was awesome, and of course, thanks to all of the Fat City Army who parachuted into Bensalem to raid the event.

The mania continues. That's right folks, as Dan Mills is currently backpacking across Europe trying to put a sticker on Tony Blair, another winner in the sticker contest has arrived. Mike Cortijo, our Army buddy loveably known as Guy, has out done Dan Mills AND Ozzy Osbourne by putting a Fat City sticker on the Alamo. Guy, I don't exactly know how you want your prizes, but email us and we'll send you whatever you want: candy, magazines, and/or Jimmy Buffet CD's. Thanks for thinking of us...
NEWS UPDATE!!!!!!
Fat City Reprise has added a show!!! That's right kid, we're storming over the border and into the heart of Delaware to rock out at Kahunaville in Wilmington at Midnight on Friday, September 23rd. The place is awesome with a huge fake ass volcano in the middle of the bar. It should be a rip roaring time, don't forget your Hawaiian shirt. For other dress code policies, please visit www.kahunaville.com.

Dear Fans of Fat City,

Yes, the rumors are true. I, Anthony Trovarello, am leaving the band, for no personal reasons but actually for business purposes (which means no one is mad at me and vice versa).
Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the past few years. It was the time of my life and no one will really understand how much it has all meant to me. To the guys in the band, rock onward and to all the fans, thanks a million.

"In my life, I love you more." -J. Lennon

Love,
Anthony "The Bass in Your Face" Trovarello

August 29th, 2005

Well we just got back from Temple University and we hope everyone who saw us tonight, their first night of college, will remember seeing us in the first place after they wake up tomorrow in the middle of Broad Street with their underwear on their head. That's how first nights of college go, so no hard feelings. Thanks to the Fat City Army for invading North Philly today, we know how much gas costs and how muggy it was, we really love you guys. We have the best fans in the city and anyone who wants to disagree is going to find themselves in the middle of a Fat City Missile Crisis. The brewing hurricane never made an appearance, thank God, but the cloud cover provided a nice overcast touch to what could have been a 100 degree day. A splendid show indeed.
This Friday we play Dave and Buster's with special guests Heavy Duty and Dropping Stone. If you've never heard those two bands, an easy remedy is to come out to the show. The Ben Franklin Bridge and river will be on call providing an atmosphere that many would call enchanting. And the music will paint a picture known as the funk. We go on at midnight but the live music will start jamming at 10:00pm. The cover is five dollars but anyone who comes buck naked gets in free. And remember this is not an image, this is
God given, this is hard livin' mixed with Krystal sippin'.

ATTENTION EVERYONE WHO NOW OWNS THE LIVE CD!!! You fought the masses, you wriggled through the crowds, and you controlled your Fat City Mania long enough to fork over your hard-earned five bucks. Thanks a million to everyone who bought the Live CD at Grape Street on the 19th. Please feel free to drop us comments through email and the message board on what you think.
Who's ready for TEMPLE!?
That's right, on Sunday we storm the beaches of Temple University's Bell Tower for TWO, count'em, TWO extremely live rock shows! We're playing at 5pm and 7pm this Sunday, outdoors at the Bell Tower on Temple University's main campus. This event is FREE, ALL AGES, and on a Sunday, so no one has any excuses not to be there enjoying the sun before it goes away until May.

Holla back!

Crazy world, huh? The TLA was the shiznittybinidbappinitiboombasticslipslaptitty. Thanks to everyone in the Fat City Army who showed up and supported us. We have the best fans you could ask for and we love you guys, you're hardcore and we really appreciate it. We've got a lot of new fan pics and new show pics from the TLA, they'll be up in a few days.
But as usual, the topic is the future. The emails are tallied, the votes are in, and Beth and Mike have won the Beat Dan Mills sticker contest. They traveled all the way to St. Louis and put a sticker on the Arch. If you don't believe them, check out this picture. They get a Fat City grab bag that includes two posters, stickers, shirts, and a free copy of our new Live CD recorded July 19th at Grape Street.
Did they just say Live CD? Oh snap, I think we did. That's right, our Live CD with 13 tracks will be available for purchase at shows soon for a fee of only five dollars. That's 39 Cents a song! You can't beat that with a stick. And where did we record this majesty of sound? Grape Street, that's where. And that's where we'll be on Friday where we hit the stage at 11:00pm for an onslaught of rock and/or roll. We'll see you there...

Your Boys,
Fat City Reprise

P.S. Dan Mills, of said sticker contest, leaves us today to go back to the University of Miami, Ohio. Have a safe trip Dan, we'll miss you greatly. You were our glue this summer, we'll see you in a few months, Buddy...

Clark Bars for everyone! Wednesday night's show with The Clarks, Pittsburgh's greatest sons since Fred Rogers, was a huge success. The Clarks played a great set and were more than friendly. Thanks to every single person who decided to fork over the 15 clams to see us at the North Star. We really appreciate it, especially being on a Wednesday. We called on you to wear your shirts, you did, and we felt the love. And a special thank you to all those who made shirts, way to hustle. A big hello to everyone who came to see the Clarks and decided they liked themselves some Fat City. We look forward to seeing you guys at our upcoming shows. Wait a minute, did we just say upcoming shows!?!?!?
That's right we did. The band comfortably known as "Your Boys" will be ragin' like a Cajun' at the Theatre of the Living Arts on August 12th at 11:00pm. A lot of great acts will be on the bill, such as Simple and Supreem, Blue Sinatra, Disciples of Groove, and Adam Monaco. Tickets are available at the TLA box office and through the band. Just make sure that when you go to the box office, you tell them you're there for Fat City. Get obnoxious with it, if you please. We'll be preparing for the TLA over the next two weeks, so get your cameras ready. It's going to be a night to remember.

Hey Everyone, what a busy week! We played Grape Street Tuesday on the WMMR night. Congrats to Amy and Mole Daddy who are in the running to win the WMMR trip for two to Toronto. The crowd response was overwhelming and we really appreciate everyone coming out and getting into it. We aims to please, the more fun you guys have the more fun we have. And to everyone who saw us for the first time Tuesday, thanks for all your positive comments and thanks for stopping by our site. We appreciate the follow-up and we'll see you in the future.

Then Wednesday, Jackson from WMMR played our song on the radio. No one told us this was going to happen so we missed it, but a big thank you to Jackson for playing us. Now all everyone who is reading this has to do is request Fat City Reprise whenever Jackson is on the radio over and over again in different voices.
And Friday was JR's, also a huge success. Thanks to everyone who braved the heat and came out to see us and Nova. They were great and the mood was sweaty but cheerful.
Now for the coming days! We play the North Star Bar with the Clarks on Wednesday at 8:00pm. We need everyone to come out in their shirts for this one. We want to represent. We want everyone to know Fat City fans are really an army. And after Wednesday night, it's the TLA!! ALL AGES AUGUST 12TH.

Hot Dawgs,
Fat City Reprise

PS: Sign up for the Instant Mobile Updates to get text messages about upcoming shows. Welcome to Century 21.

July 9th, 2005

As the light breath of fireworks kissed the majestic waters of the Delaware, West River Drive pumped out a sweet acoustic set. And as the Ben Franklin Bridge soared ever higher with it's majesty, Nova's horns trumpeted their way towards the clouds. And at the stroke of midnight (Happy Birthday Mole Daddy) we took the stage on what turned out to be a beautiful night, beautiful turn out, beautiful crowd, and just a great time. Thanks to West River Drive and Nova for coming out and hopping onto the bill. Everything went off without a hitch, the love was definitely felt.
It's that magical time of the month everyone. No, not that time when your mom yells at you extra for a week, we're playing GRAPE STREET. We take the stage at the Grape at 11:00pm on their weekly WMMR night on Tuesday July 19th. The whole concert is being recorded so we're coming to you, the Fat City Army, for a favor. We need to hear your voices on the live CD. So everyone who can, we'll see you at the Grape for a night of liquor, loud music, love, and eventually hangovers.
Can't make it to Grape Street? Well we're playing JR's on July 22nd with an amazing line-up again. Nova will be back out and the joint will be jumping. And if you can't make it to that one, the roster is full. We'll be playing the North Star Bar on Wednesday July 27th with the Clarks. The Clarks are a really big band out there in Pittsburgh, we're really looking forward to playing with them. You guys would definitely appreciate their brand of rock and roll. Thanks again to everyone who came out to D and B, we felt the love.

Beat Dan Mills!

Hey Fat City Army, we have a new assignment for you. Lt. Dan Mills (see file photo) is currently on a mad mission to put Fat City stickers in weird and wild places. Everytime he gets a really good one, like on the back of a news van, Billy Penn's hat, or Beyonce's behind, we're going to put it up on the site. We are challenging you to beat him. Every month we'll be annoucncing the winner of the monthly Beat Dan Mills Sticker Contest. The winner will recieve a Fat City Grab Bag, have their picture put up on the site, and be the subject of the main page blog. Stickers are available at all of our shows for absolutely free, and you can send submissions to us at band@fatcityreprise.com. So there you have it, now go out there and beat Dan Mills!!!

Love ya',

We must be Peanut Butter Street because we go so well with Grape Street, it's ridiculous. The show on the 24th was a big success, thanks to everyone for coming out. We handed out 150 demos and got to talk to a lot of people who hadn't heard us before. You know who you are, so post on the message board and welcome to the family. We premiered a new song and no one has posted constructive criticism yet; we're waiting to hear from you.
Our next venture is Dave and Buster's, what a zany place huh? Arcade games bleeping and lighting up everywhere, big crazy bar, and an awesome deck right on the river. We'll be appearing live on that deck with special guests Nova on July 8th at 9:00pm. Come thirsty because the night will be full of boats passing by, the Ben Franklin Bridge, and Neapolitan romanticism seldom felt in the atmosphere at your average bar.

After that, we're playing July 22nd at JR's and July 27th at the North Star where we will be opening for the awesome Pittsburgh favorite The Clarks. That show will also be a hell of a time. Their fans claim to outnumber our loyal admirers; I think that's a challenge. That's July 27th at 9:00pm. Ask about it when we see each other on the 8th.

Welcome to the Summertime, bitches! We've got some news. There are a lot of canceled shows coming up, but the slots will fill again shortly so keep an eye on the gig page. May 31st, 2005

On May 29th, 2004 we made our first appearance on the South Street scene. We played a gig at Club 218/Malokai's on South Street over the Memorial Day holiday and it went pretty well for the circumstances. One year to the date we participated in the Tropic Relief Benefit at the TLA. Only one word comes ot mind when we recall that magical night: rockin! A thousand thank you's to everyone who came out and shelled out the ten clams to pay for their ticket. You guys really came through for that one and made us look good. We love all of our fans, you guys rock. A special apology to everyone who thought we were playing later and bought tickets only to miss our performance, especially Nasty Nate. Now we have good news and bad news. So here's the good news. The good news is that the website is, as you can see, back up and reactivated. It just so happened we forgot that it had been two and a half years since we bought he domain name.
Where does the time go? The other good news is that we got the TLA performance recorded from two different angles so a video representation of the evening will be available for dowload as soon as film genius John Paul "South Fellini" Zito finishes up his editing. Also, he is nearing completion of the Fat City Studio Documentary. That will also be posted as soon as we can get it together.
The other good news is that we are playing Abilene's on Saturday June 11th. Get ready to rock out with your private parts waaaay out. And the final piece of good news is that Frank just saved some money on his car insurance. As for the bad news, we're gonna have to shut down the studio. Ya'll can get back in there to work on your tracks as soon as we get a water ballon full of yak blood. See you on the 11th of June...

We just got back from Gaithersburg, Maryland and boy are our arms tired. Thanks to Simple and Supreem for hooking up the van situation and driving all the way down there. It was a really fun show and we'd like to think that it rocked. But as a tree falling in the woods when no one is around to hear the sound, did we really rock or was it all a dream (I used to read Word-Up Magazine)? In the words of Samuel L. Jackson, Hold on to your butts. We're rocking out the Abilene tonight with very special guests NOVA. That's right, we're playing inside the city limits Saturday May 14th at midnight. A splendid time is guaranteed for all. The rock will flow from our amps like milk and honey in Canaan. Don't forget your tee shirts...

Your Boys,
Fat City Reprise

April 20th, 2005

Wow, what a month April was for rockin' out. Thanks to everyone who came to Abilene's on Friday night and Grape Street on Tuesday night. On Tuesday afternoon, we played Temple's Spring Fling, and that can only be described as awesome. We handed out 400 demos on campus, bringing our distribution past 1000 copies. Thanks to Mole Daddy, Jen, Cousin Steven, Big Mel, and everyone else who helped us with equipment and merchandise over these last few busy days.
Now it's time for us to take a little time off. Now we know what you're thinking, How am I ever going to last a whole month without my Fat City Reprise? We're sorry but everyone is going to have to try and live with boring weekends until our triumphant return to the stage on May 14th at Abilene's.
What's there to do on the weekend besides going to a Fat City show you ask? Why, you can post on our message board (to which we will surely reply), email us questions, listen to the demo, tell your friends about us, or just learn the lyrics for the next show!! And after all that Fat City without a show for a month, you'll be more juiced about Abilene's than Darryl
Strawberry in Colombia.

Forever Yours,
Fat City Reprise

Get Ready to Get Grapey!

Well that Pontiac Show was certainly a success! We rocked you like a hurricane and then went knock knockin' on heaven's door. Thanks to everyone who was so kind as to check us out in a new place, the Pontiac Grille is definitly a cool room. The bigger and better...

GRAPE STREET GANGSTAS BE WYLIN'. We're going to blow the roof off of Grape Street this weekend on Friday at 10pm. The rock will be hard, the roll will be swift, and if you're lucky, the Frankie might be nude. Anyone who doesnt come to Grape Street on Friday is a cotton-headed ninny muggins. Yeah that's right, we said it.

Spring Forward, Rock Out

Rock and roll is our business and we intend to be good at it. Grape Street was absolutely awesome, as usual. We had a great time, tried out a new look, and were cookin' with gas. Tom and Tony both got to break in their new 100 percent All-American instruments that made us show up with a new sound. Thanks to everyone who made it out to the nomadic lands of Manayunk to see the show. Stop by the message board and take the poll about our newly found sense of style.
One of the last places for us to play
in Philly is the Pontiac Grille on 2nd and South. That's all going to change on April 2nd when we take the Pontiac by storm and rock out the same stage that legends like Nirvana and Pearl Jam cut their teeth on. It'll be a regular hootin' and hollerin' Tabasco jamboree.
And if you're lucky enough to be paying attention, you might hear some of that new funk
And now the great news...(insert drum roll here)...the mp3's are now available for download!!! That's right coxes and foxes, now you can take our music to the masses from the comfort of the chair you're in RIGHT NOW. We're asking you to put our name on every tongue and our songs in every ear, or to just rock us on the iPod so we feel like it's the Back to the Future II. Also, in the last few months the questions we've been getting asked at shows have changed, so we have the answers, the FAQ is all new and updated for your viewing pleasure, as are the band bios. Please feel free to surf them all day at work so you can get paid to stare into a glass box of hilarity!

Eight Minute Abs

Congratulations.....six times at Abilene's with the new improved lineup and we're still doing better everytime. Thanks to everyone that came out to one of our favorite haunts to see us make an attempt to rock out with our proverbial little selves out. Our next stop is the North Star Bar on Thursday. Look out for the balcony shots of Frank pulling his hair out of his face over and over again during Waste. See you Thursday...

It seems like everytime we go to Grape Street we get a little Grapier. Us and Grape Street was like peas and carrots again. Huge thanks to all of the people who came out to support us and hopefully everyone who got a demo liked it. If anyone has any comments, feel free to email us or stop by our HANDY DANDY MESSAGE BOARD!
Batting next for the Fat City Reprise, February 25th at Abilene's. That's right giggles and wiggles, we're rocking the Abilene again this Friday at midnight. We're aiming to rock right through the stage and into the basement and Frank might even bring out his Paul Stanley "Tears Are Fallin'" video jungle swing. Remember, you don't have to be rich to be our girl, you don't have to be cool to rule our world, you just have to come to Abilene's on Friday. See you there.

Beads, the beads, whose got the beads? Mardi Gras was a drunken mess and we loved every sloppy second of it. We played two shows at Abilene's on at 6pm and another at 10pm. The new Fat Tuesday equation was born: Beer plus Beads = Boobininies. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us and to all you first time listeners....
Tune in again this Friday at Grape Street, The mood is set for a big purple mess. Rumor has it we're rockin so hard they're changing the name to Raisan Street. We have tons of shirts, tons of absolutely FREE cd's to give away, and about 5,000 stickers with your name written all over them. Don't forget to tip the bartender and we'll see you Friday night.

You were sweaty, drunk, snowed in, cramped, and charged five bucks to be that way. I bet it felt like a bad idea around 10:15pm. But JR's was a blast. From 10:30 straight to the end we had great performances by West River Drive and Nova to keep the crowd hype in such close quarters. By the time we got on, everyone was raring to go and the place exploded. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us in such conditions, we hope you got your five bucks worth. We also dropped our new demo into the waiting and willing hands of everyone at the show. Over 150 were distributed, all fabulously free and startlingly pretty. Thanks to Mad Dog Dennis Scoleri for busting his ass to get those preliminary ones done.
But onto the future..... February 8th we are playing Abilene's. Now that may sound like your normal Fat City announcement but when you factor in that Abilenes is on South Street and Feb 8th is Mardi Gras, add a little essence and BAM: rockin times. We're not sure what time we're going on as of yet, we'll let everyone know as soon as we can, but it's a guaranteed rockfest. So grab the kids, some beads, and some brews for the Fattest Tuesday you'll ever blackout and forget.

Here it is, the day you've all been dreaming of, waiting for the last 56 years to see the sun rise on this very day.... Finally, our new demo is finished and on the website. That's right, there is a Santa Claus and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Thanks to Zito for filming the documentary (available on the site soon), Noah and Scott at Third Story, Pete at Masterworks, and to Mole Daddy. Everyone put in a lot of effort and busted their balls but the final product is best described as ¡excellente! Tell your friends to tell their friends to get with their other friends and listen to the demo. We've got a ton of shows coming up, check out the shows page for more info. Also, we put some video clips of us playing at Abilene's on the media page along with the new mp3's. Please feel free to enjoy. See you at the Five Spot.

:: NEW YORK TIMES ::
:: SECTION C :: PAGE SIX::
SAUDI ARABIA:
Millions of Saudis prayed to Allah late into the night last night as their sanctuary was severely threatened. Word from Mecca was that Allah had become angry and was causing earthquakes as seismic reports flooded into laboratories confirming the data. Millions fled to the city to see if the rumors were true and to pray. And as they looked up they knew it was true, that the mosques were in danger. They watched the Casbah being rocked and they bantered frantically. Even the eldest of the crowd couldn't remember the Casbah ever being rocked quite so hard. And the Sharif certainly didn't like it.

BANG!! That's exactly the resounding smack in the face from Abilene's Friday night. We started 2005 with a big bang to a completely packed Abilene's last night. We rocked so hard we heard some crazy stuff happened at the Casbah. That's right, the Casbah was most certainly rocked, as usual. Thanks to everyone who came out to see and support us. We really had an incredible time and it's because of all of you. The pictures will be up soon, look out for yourselves on the fan page. You just have to show up in a Fat City shirt and get into a picture or email us a picture of you and your friends at a show. Only requirement is the shirt. The demo is nearly done, we're just getting ready to master it and manufacture it. You'll know it's here when it's done, it'll be everywhere. And certainly don't forget to come out to JR's the 28th of January. It's a Friday night and what says Friday like a Fat City show and a whole lotta' drinkin'? That's the spirit. Sign up for the mailing list to receive show updates, and post on the message board. It's fun, we swear. See you at JR's...

January 2nd, 200-Five

What a ridiculous New Year...ridiculous in a good way of course. First of all, Happy New Year and welcome to Two-thousand and Fat City. Someday you'll be able to look back and tell your kids how much fun the O's were. Well some of us won't be able to look back and remember but we're sure you all have great imaginations. Grape Street was out of control. We got the whole thing on mini-DVD and it'll be available soon. Just like our video clips from Abilene's which will also be on the website soon. Thanks to everyone who came out to the show and we hope you had a blast. Onto the future....
And we'll be looking forward to seeing EVERYONE and everyone those people ever met at Abilene's this Friday. The music is going to be tight, the drinks liquid, and none of the ladies will have Adam's apples. We'll tell you that much bro. It's going to be a killer time. Special bonus prize to any ladies who come in a nurse costume.

Your Boys,
Fat Cizzle Reprizzle

P.S. The demo is almost mixed and mastered. Look for it under your pillow soon.
